Shutters
Very popular in Europe and USA, plantation shutters are stylish, versatile window coverings featuring wide, adjustable louvres (slats) that allow you to control light, airflow, and privacy with ease. Unlike traditional blinds, these shutters are built into a sturdy frame that is fitted directly to the window, providing a sleek, high-end look that enhances both modern and classic interiors.
Made from wood, PVC, or composite materials, plantation shutters are durable, low-maintenance, and energy-efficient, helping to regulate room temperature by keeping heat out in the summer and warmth in during cooler months. Their timeless design not only adds elegance to your home but also increases property value, making them a long-lasting investment.
Available in a variety of colors and finishes, plantation shutters complement any décor while offering superior privacy and light control compared to standard curtains or blinds. Whether you prefer a full-height, café-style, or tier-on-tier design, they provide a customizable, stylish, and functional solution for any space.
The main benefits of plantation shutters are the variety of options that are available with them. Our shutters can be specified to include options such as plantation shutters with blinds built in or insect screens.
Whether you are looking at plantation shutters for bedrooms or plantation shutters for bathrooms, their versatile design makes then a great blind choice for almost any application.

Louvre Sizes
The 64mm louvre is a more traditional looking shutter and provides slightly more privacy than light. The 64mm is available across all shutter materials and tilt options.
The 76mm louvre is the most popular size offering a balance of light and privacy when open, tilted or fully closed. Also offering a mix of traditional and modern.
These larger slats offer maximum light even when tilted at an angle. They are perfect for covering much larger areas such as patio doors and floor to ceiling windows.
Shutter Materials
-
Basswood is a lightweight yet durable hardwood, making it one of the most popular choices for plantation shutters. It has a smooth, fine grain, which allows for a flawless painted or stained finish. Basswood shutters provide excellent insulation, are resistant to warping, and offer a high-end, elegant appearance. However, as a natural wood, they may be more expensive than other materials and require proper maintenance in humid environments.
-
Pine is a softer wood, making it a more affordable option for shutters. It has a distinctive grain pattern and is often used for a more rustic or natural look. While pine is lightweight and easy to work with, it is not as durable as hardwoods like basswood and may be more susceptible to dents, scratches, and moisture damage over time.
-
Fauxwood shutters, made from UPVC (Unplasticized Polyvinyl Chloride), are an excellent choice for humid areas like bathrooms and kitchens. They are water-resistant, durable, and easy to clean, making them a low-maintenance alternative to real wood. While fauxwood shutters closely resemble real wood, they can be heavier, which may limit their size and design options.
-
MDF shutters are made from engineered wood fibers, providing a strong, cost-effective alternative to natural wood. They are durable, resistant to warping, and can be finished with a smooth, painted surface for a high-end look. However, MDF is heavier than real wood, and if the outer coating is damaged, moisture can cause swelling over time, making it less suitable for damp environments.
